The Auxiliary Piping contracts awarded by EDF to Ponticelli includes the supply, prefabrication and erection of “utilities”, “cooling” and “environmental” piping systems of the combined cycles gas turbines.

EDF has also awarded Ponticelli the prefabrication and erection on site of the gas pipe system of the plant. The contract includes as well, a steel structure package and represents 500 tons of deliverable as a whole.

The piping prefabrication works have begun in Saint Avold (Lorraine region) and Echirolles (Rhone-Alpes region) workshops. This is demonstrating the importance of the use of synergies between units in France and overseas in developing value propositions for our customers.

The erection works will start before summer 2010 and will be completed in March next year.

The new 440 MW power plant of “Blénod Les Pont à Mousson” is the first of its kind for EDF. It is a semi base load and semi peak shaving unit. It will replace the coal fired power plant built nearby in the 60’s.
